Compact districts
Eliminate sprawling, meandering districts
Currently, Congressional District 4 stretches from Monticello to Bedford. What do the people of Monticello have in common with the people of Bedford? Nothing - except being great Hoosiers.
Below, the current map of Congressional District 4.

Below (in purple), the conceptual version of Congressional District 4. Eliminating the sprawling, meandering districts means that the voices of Hoosiers aren't dilluted by wayward boundaries.

Another example of a sprawling district is Congressional District 8 (below). This stretches from Evansville up to Warren County.

Below (green) is the conceptual version of Congressional District 8. Compact districts respect communities of interest and reduce voter confusion.
