Respect known community boundaries

Hamilton County has nine state representatives and five state senators. This is approximately 10 percent of the Indiana legislature. (See existing map below).


Following known community boundaries is a natural way to keep communities of interest together and create more compact districts. The concept map reduced the number of districts from nine down to four. In the concept map, existing political boundaries were respected, which reduces voter confusion. (See concept map below).
